Food and service is exceptional! A favorite spot of mine for 10+ yrs. The parking lot is located on both sides of this restaurant, but know that it fills up quickly for the popular breakfast hrs!
I ordered the veggie omelet with 3 pancakes, and it was so delicious. My friend ordered the green machine omelet with hashbrowns and toast. Hashbrown wasn't as crispy as they could have been, but it's okay it was still good. Service was a bit slow, but I understood how busy they were at breakfast time. The food was really good.
Food was great. Service was ok but I wasn't expecting 5 star service from a breakfast spot. In the end I would still come back bc the food was that good.
Came back to Mama's Restaurant; still keeping my rating for food & service. Everyone is friendly & courteous & the food is good. Today I had the chicken & waffle plate; the waffle was light & slightly crispy; the chicken tenders were fresh & the coating was well seasoned & crispy. My husband had the breakfast platter with grits, eggs, sausage, bacon & ham with a side of whole wheat toast. Our server today was Lacy, she was a real sweetheart & took good care of us. Mama's isn't fine dining, it's good ole home style cooking served with kindness & courtesy. We'll be back, I need to try the corned beef sandwich.
I love their breakfast. I only go for the breakfast. I haven't tried anything else yet. I'm sure their other food choices are good as well
Out Detroit checking on our properties and decided to stop by a local restaurant to feed the family. Girls had pancake kids meal $5.99 Babe had skillet omelette ( don't remember cost) I had chk and waffles $12.99 with coffee Total bill $40. Food was plentiful, everyone left full. Good place to check out if In the area.
I little rough around the edges but bomb food! Great customer service, packed restaurant with great vibes! Food hot, fresh and made to order. Parking right next to the restaurant, my husband enjoyed his Strawberry lemonade and my coffee was hot and the French vanilla creamer was a plus! I would definitely visit again when I come back to Detroit!
Wow. Did I say wow? Visiting Motor City again with my lady. Had to find a non chain place to fill our hunger needs before driving up to the UP. MAMA'S it's the real deal. Staff very attentive, Tiara was amazing. She doesn't need to wear a tiara, she is a crown. Great personality and great service. Now the food. The juiciest chicken tenders on the planet. No joke. We got 5 plates of different food because I wanted the whole menu. Waffles, biscuits gravy, potato pancakes, corned beef hash. This is the best breakfast I have had in Detroit so far. And it will be hard to beat. We will be back.
